FMQB reports... The
drama surrounding Kelly Clarkson's new album My December
continues, as Entertainment Weekly reports the singer has fired her
manager just two weeks before its release. Jeff Kwatinetz of
The Firm had been Clarkson's manager and the company later confirmed the
split in a statement.... Prince has
confirmed details of his new album, "Planet Earth", which will accompany
his upcoming summer residency in the UK. The pop legend has reportedly reunited
with famed former collaborators Wendy & Lisa on the new album, which will
be released through Columbia. News of the record coincides with his epic
upcoming touring plans, which include 21 concerts in London during August and
September. The new album will see him working with Wendy & Lisa for the
first time since his landmark 1987 album "Sign O The Times". "Live
Earth" is due out on July 16.
Producer extraordinare Timabland
is set to release a Rock/Hip-Hop compilation in March, titled Timbaland Presents Shock Value.
According to MTV.com, the disc will feature tracks from Fall
Out Boy, Dr. Dre, The Hives and 50 Cent, as well as a
collaboration between Timba and She
Wants Revenge. "I don't think that anybody's heard anything like
it," SWR singer Justin Warfield
said of their new song. "It's just a true collaboration between the best of what
he does and the best of what we do. I think that it goes beyond putting a hyphen
in between two musical genres, and it goes beyond radio format and beyond
preconceived ideas about style."...A Joni Mitchell tribute record, simply titled
A Tribute To Joni Mitchell, will
be released this spring. The disc features contributions from Elvis Costello, Prince, James Taylor and more....The RIAA has handed out its Gold,
Platinum and Multi-Platinum certifications for the month, and Janet's 20 Y.O. was certified Platinum
after selling 1 million copies. This marks Jackson’s
ninth album and her eighth Platinum award....Joss
Stone will release her third
record, Introducing Joss Stone, on March 20 via Virgin Records.
Stone describes the album as "truly me. That’s why I’m
calling it Introducing Joss Stone. These are my words, and this is who
I am as an artist. On the album, Stone collaborates with producer/songwriter Raphael
Saadiq, who also played bass. Introducing Joss Stone also
features appearances from rapper Common and Lauryn Hill.
Stone will play sold out gigs in Los Angeles and New York in the coming weeks to
preview her new material.
